Chapter 4

Devices Used For the Treatment Of Sexual Dysfunctions In Men, Rany Shamloul, Ahmed El-Sakka and Hussein Ghanem

Over the years, several treatment options for persistent male sexual dysfunctions have been introduced. The use of various instruments during management of erectile dysfunction (ED) and delayed or lack of ejaculation dates back to the 1950s. Devices used during management of male sexual dysfunctions may be externally applied, such as vacuum constriction devices (VCDs), external penile splints, vibrators, and electroejaculators. On the other hand, penile implants or prostheses are primarily internal devices used to treat resistant cases of ED. All of these options will be discussed in detail in this chapter.
