Ok-great question! You cannot safely put hand sanitizer inside the vagina, mouth or rectum. Not a good thing to do. If you are concerned about possible pregnancy after unsafe sexual play you need to get your hands on some EC-Emergancy Contraception or also called the Morning After Pill. EC works to prevent a pregnancy from happening after unsafe sexual acts. A woman gets a prescription for it and takes it within 120 hours after the accident occured. Taken after that it does not work.
If a woman is already pregnant when she takes the pills, she will likely remain pregnant so it is not an abortion and will probably not harm a developing fetus if she is pregnant. You can only get EC through a doctor, but you can get a prescription from the doctor before the accident happens. Contact your nearest Planned Parenthood-www.ppfa.org or 1 800 230 PLAN to get a prescription.
Putting hand sanitizer, using a douche, or putting anything else in the vagina after an unsafe sexual act could make a woman very sick, increase the chances of her getting pregnant, or cause a vaginal infection. None of the things you were looking for when you tried to fix the problem.
Unfortunalty, EC only works to prevent pregnancy and there is currently nothing that one can take to reduce their chances of not being infected with an std if they had unsafe sex. That's where condoms come into play. YOu have to use them each and every time to prevent STD transmisison if you are unsure of your sexual partner's history.
Good luck and thanks for writing in such an important question!
