Question:
To whom it may concern, dr. i wanted to find out if my female partner had any possibility of getting pregnant i f i had sex with her without a condom during the ovulation period of her menstrual cycle. But the thing is that i had taken my penis out of her vagina before i ejaculated. i am just worried that whether there would be any sperms that could have been let lose before ejaculation.

Yes, it is possible for the female to get pregnant during ovulation even if you withdraw the penis before you ejaculate in her vagina. The reason is that just prior to the ejaculation which you can feel (and therefore can pull out) there is a discharge of semen called precum that you can't feel. That semen (which also has sperm in it) comes early in order to neutralize the acids in your urethra going through the penis which also carries urine in it. Since sperm is fragile and dies easily, the body sets up a system to protect it. If you have put the penis into the vagina, the precum can impregnate the female.
Hopefully this answers your question and the answer suggests that males should wear latex condoms every time they put the penis near the opening of the vagina or inside, since the female can get pregnant easily.Reviewed by: Patricia Fawver Ph.D. in Sexology
