Question:
I would like to know your opinion on how affective hypnosis is on survivors of sexual abuse as a healing tool.

Answer:
by Wendy Maltz:
(05/17/2004)
Dear I am not an expert on hypnosis and it's effectiveness with survivors. Over the years I have heard different stories from survivors, some saying hypnosis has been helpful, others saying it has not. The key to any sexual abuse recovery method is "empowering the survivor". Thus, I would assume that hypnosis done in a manner which accomplishes this is more likely to be helpful.
