Question:
I was just wondering the average time of intercouse, like how long it usually lasts?

Good question. I am not sure anyone knows for sure because there is so much variation (and exaggeration by those who think it may prove their masculinity!) We do know that mammals (and humans are mammals) have very quick ejaculations. Those who live in the wild must do it quickly because they are vulnerable and can be killed.

Domesticated mammals can last longer and humans work toward extending intercourse from a few seconds to a few minutes. There are reports of people lasting for hours, but those are exaggerated. Usually a male person can engage in penile-vaginal intercourse for several minutes. It can be extended if the couple stops stimulation and lets the arousal slow down a little. OTher couples who are engaging in other behaviors such as oral sex, mutual masturbation or other sexual behaviors that can end in orgasm can last much longer. That is why many couples use other behaviors to have orgasms. They can last in the pleasure and arousal stage so much longer.

Thanks for writing and feel free to ask more questions if you have them.
