Question:
Sorry for asking such a dumb question but I am very scared of what happened. Me and my bf were kinda kissing and he started to get excited. I touched him down there on his underwear and I got some precum on my hand through his undies. So I then went off to wash my hands with soap and water, except I didn't use a lot of soap nor did I wash my hands really well with water. About 45min-1hr min later I touched myself down there for pleasure but there was no fingering just. I am wondering if there is a possibility of getting pregnant from it? I heard that sperm dies once the semen dries up. I am wondering if the 45min-1 hour is long enough for it to dry )if there was any sperm left on my hand) and cause the sperms to die. Thanks for your help.

Yours is clearly not a dumb question. Many people wonder just how likely is it that you can get pregnant.

From everything you described to me, there is no way that you could get pregnant. Remember one important fact. Sperm is actually very fragile and that is why hundreds of millions of sperm are produced in each ejaculation.

Let me take you through some of the things you said. First, you touched your bf through his underwear. Even though there may have been moisture (precum) on his underwear, most precum does not have much sperm in it. Precum is produced to clean out the urethra (tube through the penis) before a man ejaculates so the acids of urine don't kill the sperm through the semen. So there is no sperm in precum except what may be left there from a prior ejaculation. Once a man urinates his urine kills any left over sperm.

Then you washed your hands. Even putting water on your hands will take off any possible sperm. 45 minutes later the semen that might have been there would be dry.

In all three events you described there wasn't the likelihood of any sperm being present anyway, so you don't have to worry.

HOpe that helps and thanks for a great question.
