Question:
Too much pre-ejaculate and overly aroused when dancing close, making out. The other night I was at a club dancing close with a girl rubbing against each other. Later I could see a small amount of pre-cum on the outside of my pants, this is not the first time this has happened. I have experienced blue-balls sometimes as well. It's embarassing, plus I get a little paranoid, what if the precum somehow rubs through my pants, then through hers and by a one in a million chance gets her pregnant. I know the pre-cum doesn't always contain and sperm and would probably die outside the body, but if you are hot and sweaty in a hot and sweaty club, maybe that changes odds. I know I'm probably paranoid. I tend to have a problem with over-arousal

You are in your twenties and at that age it is very common for men to get easily aroused, as for example during close physical contact with a dance partner. It is completely normal for young men to sometimes get erections out of the blue. Young men are typically very easily sexually aroused, and as men age what triggers and sustains erections change. Be assured that spontaneous erections will diminish on their own as you get older. Regard it as a normal part of maturing. Also, you are probably much more aware of what is happening than others around you. Baggy clothes may help with self-consciousness; try to wear something that might conceal an erection. And just let it happen. If you are worried about precum staining your pants, wear some extra thick and absorbent underpants. Thin boxer shorts absorb less than thick cotton underwear. You do not have to worry about the risk of getting pregnant from precum having penetrated your clothes. Only precum getting into direct contact with the vagina carries a risk of pregnancy. Finally, I do want to discourage you from trying to stop your erections from occurring. I have seen mature men, who for one reason or the other have learned to “fight” erections in their youth, and as a result end up having life-long problems obtaining erections. Once your body learns to suppress erections, it can be very difficult to reverse this tendency. Sincerely, Annette Owens, MD PhD
