Question:
I am really worried that I have genital warts. I have not been sexually active for close to 3 years. But the time that I was sexually active I didn't use a condom. It was a one night stand. I was really worried about aids and stds. I noticed then that I had a raised portion right next to my urethra(my exit point). It showed up about a week after sex. It looks like extra skin. I never noticeded it before then but I wasn't really looking. I have been tested rececntly for all std's and have tested negative including HIV. This fleshy skin looking thing is barely raised doesn't itch and hasn't changed since I first noticed it. I have been to my GP and he said it looks normal. I have also been to an std clinic and they said it looks like scar tissue. I have looked at numerous pictures on the web and none of them look like what I have. What is your opinion? Do you have any pictures of genital warts in early stages. Thanks in advance.

Given you've had this bump examined a couple of times, with negative results, it is doubtful that you have genital warts or any other STD. It is most likely just extra skin, or even an area where a calcium deposit has formed. For pictures of STDs, one site to go to is the following: http://thebody.com/sowadsky/symptoms/symptoms.html Thank you for visiting the Sexual Health Network. Yvonne K. Fulbright, MS.Ed.
