Question:
After sex is it normal for your vaginal area to be swollen or sore. My vagina was normal after intercorse when I went to cleanse myself it became sore and had the appearance of a rash

It is quite normal for the vagina and vulva to become engorged and 'swollen.' That is a part of the arousal process.

What is of concern is the rash and the soreness. You could be getting sore simply from positioning or insufficient lubricant. So try changing these. Rashes are more worrying, and are caused from many things including contact dermatitis and allergy type rashes (even allergies to condoms) to the more severe rashes associated with sexually transmitted infections. If the rash or soreness persists, or you are worried, then please see your doctor.
