Question:
I am a 21 year old female, and for as long as I could remember I've been having lumps in my pubis area. I've always just thought of them as hair follicles, but now I'm rather uncertain as to what they are. Sometimes they are small or big. They're never like a blister form or anything, but more like a bump that itches, and feels like a knot. Days after the lump has formed I see a light crust over the bump. I can remember this one time that I had them all over, and if I scratched around the area dead skin would fall off. Or even on another occasion I can remember inside of my vagina being really red, and painful, I never seen anything there, but there was a pain when urinating and it just really irritated me.

As it is impossible to diagnose skin problems without a proper examination, I would strongly recommend that you fix an appointment with a doctor and get it checked. Because you have had this for as long as you can remember, chances of it being caused due to an 'infection' are slim. You need not be afraid or ashamed because doctors are trained to examine you properly in a professional setting.
