Question:
My girlfriend and I just recently started having sex together. But when we have i've been getting what look like friction burns on my penis or some type of allergic reaction to her. I wanted to know if you knew a way to get rid of them other than stop having sex which we have already done?

This is an excellent question. You very well may have an allergic reaction either to her vaginal fluids, or to the form of protection that you may be using, such as a latex condom.

You didn't mention using something, but if you are NOT using a condom I would suggest that this is certainly one way to see if you can eliminate the allergic reaction. There are many types of condoms out there and I would suggest that you try polyurethane ones rather than latex. You get far more sensation through them and you are not likely to be allergic to them as some people are to latex. There are polyurethane ones that are for the female to insert in her vagina (such as Reality) or those that are put on over the penis (there are 2-3 brand names making polyurethane condoms now).

You also might try using a water based lubricant like K-Y gel, or others lubricating substances made from silicone that give lots of moisture and may dilute what ever friction or allergen you are reacting to.

You don't have to give up intercourse, you will just need to be creative in finding what works best for you. This is something other couples face as well, so you are not alone.

Please feel free to write back if you have other questions. Thanks for writing.
