Question:
Today I was diagonosed with Trichomoniasis. I am a 20 year old female. My doctor gave me medication for my boyfriend as well as for me. I was just wondering if it was OK to have sex during the treatment, because my doctor only told me that we had to use a condom for up to a week. However, on some sites that I've been reading, they said it was important to wait. Thank you for your time!

I am sorry that I am getting your question a bit late. You should avoid having intercourse until you have both completed the treatment and have no more symptoms. Annette Owens, MD PhD
