Question:
My girlfriend just came back with an abnormal PAP Smear saying she has HPV. She is going in a couple weeks for a colposcopy. I have shown no signs of HPV. SHould I go see a doctor or wait for the colposcopy?

It's really your call. Whether or not she definitely has HPV, it would be to your benefit to be tested for any number of sexually transmitted infections, like herpes and genital warts, so that you are aware of any conditions you have and any infections you may be passing along to a partner. Thank you for visiting the Sexual Health Network. Yvonne K. Fulbright, MS.Ed.
