What you are asking about is 2 very unreliable forms of pregnancy prevention - “withdrawal” (penis pulling out of the vagina prior to ejaculation) & “rhythm method” (relying upon the cycle of egg production to determine when it is “safe” to have vaginal intercourse). I can’t tell you what your exact chances are, but you certainly can become pregnant with these methods. The egg is usually released from your ovaries midway during your menstrual cycle, but women have been known to become pregnant during their period. And withdrawal isn’t reliable because there’s semen present in the clear fluid precum (pre-ejaculatory fluid) a long time before ejaculation.
Please begin using condoms every time you have intercourse. Far too many young women become pregnant during their first few times having intercourse because they just can’t bring themselves to prepare for birth control by talking to their boyfriend & deciding upon a reliable method BEFORE intercourse. Condoms are usually free at public health clinics, HIV/AIDS agencies & teen clinics. Even if you or your boyfriend have to buy them at the pharmacy, it’s an excellent investment in both your futures.
If your boyfriend & you have difficulty talking about this, I recommend you postpone further intercourse until you can. Even adults find it more difficult to talk about sex than to do it, but remember—only you can make decisions about this part of your life. Make them decisions you won’t later regret.
