Question:
Is it possible to get a girl pregnant if I had sex with her on her 1st day of her menstrual cycle?

What is the shortest amount of time (in days) can a girl's cycle be and still ovulate in that cycle?

I mean, can a girl have a 14 day normal cycle and still ovalute on day 1?

Thanks for your question. The quick answer is that it is possible at any place in the cycle for there to be an egg present which will make it possible for pregnancy to occur. The reality though is that the first day of the menstrual cycle is usually one of the least likely times for there to be an egg present. If the body is working as it is theoretically supposed to work, the new egg is just beginning to be developed in the ovary and ovulation is about ten days away.

Notice, this is how it is supposed to work theoretically. We know though that people have gotten pregnant at almost any time in the cycle because the body began the production and ovulation out of the cycle.

Since it is hard to know exactly when a woman ovulates it is hard to know for sure what the length of time is. We know what it is theoretically, but unless there is hormone testing going on, and a pregnancy results, it is hard to know for sure.

Thanks for writing and hopefully this answered your question. Feel free to ask more questions if you have them.
